Softball
Instructor
Casie Runksmeier originally hails
from Minnesota, where she played four-years of varsity
softball all behind the plate. Deciding she wanted to have
both an ocean and mountains close by, she ventured out to
Portland, OR for her undergraduate degree. While at Lewis &
Clark College,
Casie
became a utility player as she spent time in the outfield
and middle infield.
After graduation she moved to the
other Portland and found a softball home in Frozen Ropes
Baseball/Softball Training Center. Following six months of
part-time work with the company, she was elevated to
Director of Softball Operations. Through the three years
that she ran the softball side of the business she amassed
over 2,000 hours of instruction, developed an indoor
softball league, and started a college prospect softball
team.
Even after taking on a new
position with the Portland Sports Complex, a 50,000 sq ft
all sports facility, Casie continued to work part-time with
Frozen Ropes; that tenure included coaching an elite U16
team. From 2008 to 2010, she attended the University of
Southern Maine as a graduate student.
During this time she was also an
assistant coach for the softball team with her main
responsibilities on infield, hitting, and
strength/conditioning.
Casie currently works at New
England College in Henniker, NH as a Professional Mentor.
